F.D. ROOSEVELT HIGH SCHOOL CLUBS & ACTIVITIES 2024-2025

Class Groups

Students in the same grade collaborate to create events for the school and community.  Each class participates in fundraisers for activities such as the Prom, Senior Week, Graduation, etc.  In addition, each class is involved in planning Homecoming, Spirit Week, and other FDR events.

Clubs & Activities

Academic World Quest
A unique program combining history, current events, and global affairs.

Auditorium
Students assist in the operation and setup of all school and outside events that require lighting other than the house lights.  Students also assist in the repair of equipment for lighting fixtures.

FDR Live
Produces the "FDR Live" morning announcements via video format and manages the FDR Live YouTube site.

French Club
The French Club and the French National Honor Society (Société Honoraire de Français) meet together for twice the fun.  Students learn about French-speaking cultures from all around the world.  Other topics to explore may include food, games, sports, music, art, crafts, and movies.

Interact Club

International Thespian Society (ITS)
Advisor: Mrs. Martin
LGBTQ Alliance
The FDR LGBTQ Alliance brings together LGBTQ and straight students to support each other, provide a safe place to socialize and create a platform to fight for racial, gender, LGBTQ, and economic justice.

Multi-Cultural Club
Promotes awareness, acceptance, and appreciation of diverse cultures.  Our goal is to celebrate diversity and promote acceptance and tolerance of all at FDR.

The National Art Honor Society (NAHS) is an organization that recognizes the achievements of students who excel in both their artistic and academic work.  The students must meet certain academic standards to be admitted to the group and complete volunteer work over the course of each year that they are a member.

Photography Club
S.A.D.D. - Students Against Destructive Decisions
Plans, organizes, and facilitates prevention activities throughout the school year.  Focuses on important issues such as underage drinking, drug use, risky behaviors, impaired driving, and other social issues.  Meets every Thursday after school.

FDR Ski & Snowboard Club
 

Our mission is to provide the highest quality evidence-based prevention for suicide, violence, bullying, and substance abuse by training, supporting, and empowering both peer leaders and caring adults to impact their world through the power of connection, hope, help, and strength.

Student Government Organization (SGO)
Plans events for the school community, including Homecoming and Spirit Week activities.  Meets on Wednesdays at 2:20 in room 229.

Tri-M Music Honor Society
Tri-M is a program of the National Association for Music Education (NAfME), which focuses on creating future leaders in music education and music advocacy. Tri-M recognizes students who have gone above and beyond both academically and musically. It also provides students with leadership opportunities to make a difference in their community through music-based service projects.

Varsity Club
Supports all athletic programs including hosting the Senior Athletic and Hall of Fame Dinner and Blood Drives for the school and town communities

Yearbook ("Orbit")
Carries on the tradition of recording and publishing a chronicle of the school year by producing FDR High School’s annual yearbook.  With this goal in mind, members who join the Yearbook Club should be self-motivated, cooperative, CREATIVE, and comfortable using computers.  The Club meets all year.
