F.D. ROOSEVELT HIGH SCHOOL CLUBS & ACTIVITIES 2025-2026

Class Groups

Students in the same grade collaborate to create events for the school and community.  Each class participates in fundraisers for activities such as the Prom, Senior Week, Graduation, etc.  In addition, each class is involved in planning Homecoming, Spirit Week, and other FDR events.

Academic World Quest
A unique program combining history, current events, and global affairs.

Aim High

Auditorium

Students assist in the operation and setup of all school and outside events that require lighting other than the house lights.  Students also assist in the repair of equipment for lighting fixtures.

Auto Mechanics Club

Dance Club
The dance club is a student-led step team. Stepping is a form of percussive dance in which the participant's entire body is used as an instrument to produce complex rhythms and sounds through a mixture of footsteps and hand claps.

Delanotes
FDR's coed a cappella singers meet once a week in the evening and sing for many special events throughout the year.

Drama (Fall) 
The annual fall play.

FDR Live
Produces the "FDR Live" morning announcements via video format and manages the FDR Live YouTube site.

French Club
The French Club and the French National Honor Society (Société Honoraire de Français) meet together for twice the fun.  Students learn about French-speaking cultures from all around the world.  Other topics to explore may include food, games, sports, music, art, crafts, and movies.

Hiking Club
Students meet and go on hiking trips throughout the Hudson Valley.

Interact Club
A community service club affiliated with Rotary International.  Visit www.rotary.org/interact for more information.

International Thespian Society (ITS)
An honor society that recognizes students' achievements in theater arts, including acting, dance, technical theater, and music.
Advisor: Mrs. Martin
LGBTQ Alliance
A student club that works to improve school climate for all students, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity/expression.

Multi-Cultural Club
Promotes awareness, acceptance, and appreciation of diverse cultures.  Our goal is to celebrate diversity and promote acceptance and tolerance of all at FDR.

Musical (Spring)
The National Art Honor Society (NAHS) is an organization that recognizes the achievements of students who excel in both their artistic and academic work.  The students must meet certain academic standards to be admitted to the group and complete volunteer work over the course of each year that they are a member.
Advisor: Mr. Brehse

Involves voluntary contributions made by a student to the school or community, done without compensation. Must be a member of the sophomore or junior class, have a cumulative average of at least 90 and be able to document a minimum of 30 hours of service within the twelve months prior to NHS Candidacy.

PBIS Club
The PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) Club at FDR High School brings students and staff together to create a positive, respectful, and inclusive school environment. Through teamwork and shared leadership, the club promotes positive behavior, organizes school-wide recognition events, and encourages a strong sense of community. Together, students and staff help make FDR a place where everyone feels supported, valued, and motivated to succeed.

Photography Club

S.A.D.D. - Students Against Destructive Decisions

Plans, organizes, and facilitates prevention activities throughout the school year.  Focuses on important issues such as underage drinking, drug use, risky behaviors, impaired driving, and other social issues.

Plans skiing/snowboarding trips.

FDR Ski & Snowboard Club
 

Our mission is to provide the highest quality evidence-based prevention for suicide, violence, bullying, and substance abuse by training, supporting, and empowering both peer leaders and caring adults to impact their world through the power of connection, hope, help, and strength.

Plans events for the school community, including Homecoming and Spirit Week activities.

Tri-M Music Honor Society
Tri-M is a program of the National Association for Music Education (NAfME), which focuses on creating future leaders in music education and music advocacy. Tri-M recognizes students who have gone above and beyond both academically and musically. It also provides students with leadership opportunities to make a difference in their community through music-based service projects.

Varsity Club
Supports all athletic programs including hosting the Senior Athletic and Hall of Fame Dinner and Blood Drives for the school and town communities

Yearbook ("Orbit")
Carries on the tradition of recording and publishing a chronicle of the school year by producing FDR High School’s annual yearbook.  With this goal in mind, members who join the Yearbook Club should be self-motivated, cooperative, CREATIVE, and comfortable using computers.  The Club meets all year.
